While searching for selling publishing rights to images taken by own camera but not authorized to sell, came across few good links which provide important information whicha photographer must be aware of, there are several cases where government or private agencies have put restrictions on publishing rights for certain type of photographs, so make sure you have appropriate rights before selling any right.

 

One such case is of Eiffel Tower, you are not allowed to publish photographs taken during night when it glows without paying SNTE.

Q: Is the publishing of a photo of the Eiffel Tower permitted?
A: There are no restrictions on publishing a picture of the Tower by day. Photos taken at night when the lights are aglow are subjected to copyright laws, and fees for the right to publish must be paid to the SNTE.
